This thesis aims to improve students' vocabulary by using the Jenga game at the
eighth grade of SMPN 2 Lamasi. The research question of this research was is the use
of the Jenga game can improve students' vocabulary at the eighth grade of SMPN 2
Lamasi. The objective of this research was to find out whether the use of significant
contributions finish students in the Jenga game is effective to iin improving students'
vocabulary at the eighth grade of SMPN 2 Lamasi. This research applied pre
experimental. The population in this research was the eighth-grade students of SMPN
2 Lamasi. This research was conducted in one class of 30 students. The sample of this
research is 30 students. The sampling technique in this research was total sampling.
The instrument of the research was a vocabulary test. The researcher gave pre-test
and post-test to students. The data was analyzed by using SPSS 22. The results of this
research showed that the use of the Jenga game is effective to improving students'
vocabulary at the eighth grade of SMPN 2 Lamasi. The students' result of the mean
score in the pre-test was lower than the mean score in the post-test (54.97< 70.10).
The researcher found that the p-value was 0.00 and the alpha was 0.05, therefore p <
α (0.00 < 0.05). Thus, the researcher concluded that the use of the Jenga game can
improve the students' vocabulary.
