Peer Editing Technique at the Third Semester Students English
language education Study Program of Iain Palopo.”

This research is concerned about improving students’ writing skill using the peer
editing technique at the third semester students’ English language education study
program of IAIN palopo. The research question is: does peer editing technique
effectively improve students' writing skill on recount text? The research aims at
find out whether or not the peer editing technique effectively improves students’
writing skill on recount text. The sample is chosen in this research, the researcher
used the Pre-Experimental design by applying a purposive sampling technique.
The research subjects were 22 Third-semester BIG B students.The population of
this research was the third-semester students of the English language education
study program in the academic year 2021/2022 with a total of 83 students. The
result of this research showed there was a different mean score of pre-test 7.350
and post-test 12.800 in this class. By concluding t0 (19.097) is higher than tt.
(2.093), in other words the use of peer editing techniques in writing recount text is
effective in improving students' writing skills.
