This thesis discusses improving the visual spatial intelligence of young
children through collage activities (coconut dregs) in class B at Pelangi
Kindergarten. This research aims to improve the visual spatial intelligence of
young children through coconut dregs collage activities at Pelangi Kindergarten,
North Luwu Regency.
This type of research is classroom action research. The PTK model used is
the Kemmis and Taggart model which consists of 4 stages, namely planning,
implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were
early age children in Class B of Pelangi Kindergarten with a total of 18 children.
This research was carried out in two cycles, each cycle was carried out in 2
meetings. There are two research instruments used, namely, observation sheets
and documentation. Data from observations in this research were analyzed
quantitatively descriptively consisting of the calculated average per student and
class completion.
The results of the research showed that the average value in the initial or
pre-action condition 22,22 % with the category starting to develop, while in the
first cycle after carrying out the Coconut Dregs Collage activity the average value
of children's visual spatial intelligence was 61,11% with the category starting
develop. Meanwhile, in cycle II, anal visual spatial intelligence was in the Very
Well Developed category with an average score of 83.33%. So it can be
concluded that children's visual spatial intelligence can increase through Coconut
Dreg collage activities.
