Seventh-Grade Learners at Madrasah Baburrahmah Lara 1. Thesis.
English Education Study Program of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training
Faculty at the State Islamic Institute of Palopo. Supervised by Sahraini
and Andi Tenrisanna Syam.
The writer aimed to creating the English reading worksheet that are needed by the
seventh-grade learners at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Baburrahmah Lara 1 and
examining the learners’ and teachers’ perceptions of the result of the English
reading worksheet. Data were collected through observation, interviews,
questionnaires for learners and teachers, and expert validation. The research
design used in this research was Research and Development (RND), which
adopted the ADDIE model. The steps are Analysis, Design, Development,
Implementation, and Evaluation. The participants were 11 learners, two teachers,
and three expert validations. The needed English reading worksheet as a research
product consists of several components. Namely: 1) four units: describing people,
describing places, describing animals, and describing things, 2) various activities,
3) interesting media and layout, and 4) reading skills. The worksheet was
developed based on the syllabus, curriculum, and packagebook that apply in the
school itself. Therefore, the learner’s perception got an average score of 4.2, and
the average score of a questionnaire for teachers’ was 4.5, indicating that the
designed English reading worksheet was needed for Madrasah Tsanawiyah
Baburrahmah Lara 1.
