Abstract

Wahyuni Madinatul Munawar, 2024, “Analyzing Article Usage In Procedural
Texts At Junior High School 7 Palopo”. Thesis for English Study
Program, Education, and Teacher Training Faculty, State Islamic
Institute of Palopo, Supervised by Andi Tenrisanna Syam as the first
supervisor and Rusdiansyah as the second supervisor.
The research objective is to find out the kinds of errors in the article by the
seventh graders of SMP Negeri 7 Palopo. The research purpose can make teachers
more careful in checking and helping students use the article “the, a, an” in text
procedures. In this research, the researcher uses qualitative research by adopting
systematic review. This research is about Analyzing Article Usage In Procedural
Texts At Junior High School 7 Palopo. Students’ are asked to classify articles that
researcher have prepared. In the procedure text that the researcher prepared, there
were several errors in the placement of articles in the procedural text. The
research objective is to find out the types of errors in the article usage procedural
text : 1) omission of 8 (36,36%), 2) misinformation of 8 (36,36%), and 3)
misordering of 6 (20,66%). From this research it can be concluded that the
categories of omission and misinformation are the most common forms of error
dominate. As for the error having the lowest percentage is misordering.
