Anugrah, 2024. : ”Improving Students Writing Skills Through Wattpad
Application at the Ninth Grade of SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang.” A
Thesis of the English Language Education Study Program,
Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty of State Islamic Institute of
Palopo. Wahibah S.Ag., M.Hum as Consultant I and Andi
Tenrisanna Syam, S.Pd., M.Pd. as Consultant 2.
This research is about the improving students' writing skill through wattpad
application at the nineth grade of SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang formulation of the
research question is "Does the use of Wattpad application significantly improve
the students’ writing skill in the nineth grade of SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang?". This
research aims to find out whether the use of applications can improve students'
writing skills at SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang. In this research, the researcher used pre-
experimental methods. The population of this study was 32 students. The
researcher used purposive sampling technique where there were 15 students. The
research instrument was written test. The result of the researcher found that the
probability value is smaller than the significance level (0.00 < 0.05). This shows
that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is
rejected. This means that the Wattpad application is effective to improve students'
writing skill at SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang.
