Nursafasyah 2024."Teaching Vocabulary Through Facebook to the Eighth Grade
Students of SMPN 14 Palopo. " a thesis of the English

Training Faculty of State Islamic Institute of Palopo. Amalia
Yahya, and Andi Tenrisanna Syam.
This research aims to examine whether Facebook effected on vocabulary
achievement of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 14 Palopo. This study applied
the pre-experimental research focusing on one group's pre-test and post-test
design. The population of this research was all of the students in the eighth grade
of SMPN 14 Palopo, which consisted of 58 students. The researcher used a
random sampling technique and took the samples of about 20 students. The
research instrument used was a vocabulary test. The data were analyzed using
SPSS 22 by calculating and describing the mean score statistically. This research
showed that the mean score on the post-test (73,35) was higher than the pre-test
(54,20). The significance value is smaller than the P value standard (0.000 <
0.05). On the other hand, hypothesis alternative (Ha) was accepted, and hypothesis
null (HO) was rejected. It can conclude that using Facebook is affected on
vocabulary Achievement students and can be recommended in teaching
vocabulary to increase study mastery. The results of the study showed that the
there is an effect of using Facebook on vocabulary achievement students.
