This Thesis attempt to find out whether or not the use of BBC
Learning English Application at SMAN 2 Palopo. This research use the
experimental as a method where using pre-test, treatment, and post test.
The data was collected by using a listening test. The population was 15
students of SMAN 2 Palopo and the research us ed total population
sampling which was taken from the Class of XI IPA 4 that consists of 15
students as the sample of the research. The research chose one class and
gave treatment to the students to help them to improve their listening
skill. The result og this research, according to the result to the test. The
researcher found that the BBC Learning English Application was
effective as a media in the learning/teaching process to improve students’
listening skill. It proved by the result of the post-test ( 65,33 ) and the pre
-test ( 55,33 ) with T-test score on the Pre-Test with a standard deviation
of 9.904 and Post-Test with a standard deviation of 11.255. Also the value
of sig is 0.002 < 0.05. It indicated that using BBC Learning English
Application could improve as learning/teaching media at SMAN 2
Palopo.
