Cooking Videos on Tenth Grade YouTube at State High School 4 Palopo"
Thesis of the Tarbiyah English Education Study Program and Faculty of
Teacher Training, Palopo State Islamic Religious Institute. Guided by
Amalia Yahya (Consultant 1) and Andi Tenrisanna Syam (Consultant 2)
The purpose of this study is to ascertain whether the cooking video on YouTube
enhances tenth-grade students' writing abilities in the procedure text competence
at SMA Negeri 4 Palopo. The research method used is a pre-experimental method,
with a total population of 67 students. The research sample was taken from class
X, Mipa 1 with a total of 23 students from the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 4
Palopo. Cooking Videos On YouTube is on the rise through a series of additional
learning activities designed to increase students' appeal in writing procedure texts.
At the same time, the research instruments used in collecting data are through pre�test and post-test. The data were analyzed using a paired sample T-test and
calculated with SPSS edition 23. The investigation revealed that the average score
of the post-test (83.13) was higher than that of the pre-test (75.04). The value of
data analysis, the tc value (t-count) is (11.794) for the standard significance level
of 0.05 (5%) on the df value (degree of freedom) is (2.045). (2-tailed) 0.000 is
smaller than the standard value of P 0.05 (0.000<0.05). On the other hand, the
alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (HO) is rejected.
It can be concluded that using Cooking Videos On YouTube significantly
improves students' writing ability, especially in writing procedural texts. This
study strongly emphasizes the next researcher to examine the use of Cooking
Videos On YouTube for different skills imaginatively.
