Hurul Fadyla, 2024. “An Analysis of the teacher’s strategy in teaching narrative
text of the Eighth Grade students at SMPN 2 Bua.” A thesis of
English Language Education Study Program of Education and
Teacher Training Faculty of State Islamic Institute of Palopo,
supervised by Dr. Jufriadi, S.S., M.Pd and Husnaini, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.
This study is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe the strategy of
teachers in teaching reading narrative text. This research was conducted at SMPN
2 Bua involving eighth grade one English teacher as informants. The method of
data collection used observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis
technique was using triangulation. The analysis results showed that the strategies
used by teachers’ are read the text, questioning, group work, application,
discussion, checking for understanding, using google lens, and fun time. The
strategy used by these teachers have gone through a research process and are
relevant to reading learning so that students in these schools get good learning
from teachers.
