Skripsi ini membahas tentang Efektivitas Penerapan Model Pembelajaran
Kooperatif Tipe Two Stay Two Stray dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan
Komunikasi Matematis Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Palopo. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas guru dan siswa yang diajar dengan model
pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay two stray, untuk mengetahui kemampuan
komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran
konvensional dan yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay
two stray. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model
pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay two stray dalam meningkatkan kemampuan
komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Palopo.
Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan
tipe non-equivalent control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam
penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling, sampel yang terpilih yaitu kelas VIII 4
sebanyak 28 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII 6 sebanyak 27 siswa
sebagai kelas kontrol . Data diperoleh melalui tes dan observasi. Kemudian data
dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensia.
Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa
sangat baik, kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8
Palopo yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay two stray
menunjukkan hasil rata-rata yang tergolong dalam kategori tinggi sedangkan
kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran
konvensional menunjukkan hasil rata-rata yang tergolong dalam kategori rendah.
Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay two stray terbukti efektif dalam
meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8
Palopo. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis
siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe two stay two stray
lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran
konvensional.

This thesis discusses the Effectiveness of the Application of the Two Stay
Two Stray Type Cooperative Learning Model in Improving the Mathematical
Communication Skills of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 8 Palopo. This study
aims to determine the activities of teachers and students taught with the two stay
two stray type cooperative learning model, to determine the mathematical
communication skills of students taught with conventional learning models and
those taught with the two stay two stray type cooperative learning model. This
study also aims to determine the effectiveness of the two stay two stray type
cooperative learning model in improving the mathematical communication skills
of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Palopo.
This study used a quasi experimental research design with a type of non-
equivalent control group design. The sampling technique in this study was
purposive sampling, the selected samples were class VIII 4 as many as 28 students
as an experimental class and class VIII 6 as many as 27 students as a control class.
Data are obtained through tests and observations. Then the data is analyzed using
descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.
This study shows that the results of observation of teacher and student
activities are very good, the mathematical communication skills of grade VIII
students of SMP Negeri 8 Palopo who are taught with the two stay two stray type
cooperative learning model show average results classified in the high category
while the mathematical communication skills of students taught with conventional
learning models show average results classified as low category. The two stay two
stray type cooperative learning model has proven effective in improving the
mathematical communication skills of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 8
Palopo. This can be seen from the average score of mathematical communication
skills of students taught with the two stay two stray type cooperative learning
model is higher than students taught with conventional learning models.
