TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION THROUGH ROLL AND RETELL GAME ATNSEVENTHMGRADE OF THE SMP NEGERI 1 BONE-BONE

was completed in the English Education Study Program at the
Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty of the State Islamic Institute of
Palopo, under the supervision of H. Rustan S and Yuyun Ruqiyyat
Said.
This study aimed to assess the enhancement of reading comprehension among
seventh-grade students at SMPN 1 Bone-Bone through the implementation of the
roll and retell game. Employing a pre-experimental method, the research targeted
the entire seventh-grade student population at SMPN 1 Bone-Bone. The sample
comprised 30 students chosen through total sampling. Both a pre-test and a post�test were administered, revealing a mean score of 45.95 on the pre-test and 68.57
on the post-test. Data analysis indicated that the t count (9.889) exceeded the t
table (2.045), suggesting the effectiveness of the Roll and Retell game in
enhancing reading comprehension for these students.
