ABSTRACT
Utari, 2022, “Using Think Talk Write (TTW) in Teaching Writing Descriptive
Text at The Eleventh Grade of Senior High School 4 Palopo.”
Thesis English Education Study Program Tarbiyah and Teacher
Training Faculty IAIN Palopo. Consultant (1). Dr.Masruddin, S.S.,
M.Hum, and Consultant (2). Dr. Jufriadi, S.S., M.Pd.
This research aims to find out the effectiveness of Think Talk Write in teaching
writing skills to the eleventh grade of Senior High School 4 Palopo. It applied pre�experimental research that focuses on one group pre-test and post-test design. The
eleventh-grade students of Senior High School 4 Palopo as the population of this
research. The sample is taken by purposive sampling which consists of 14
students. The data were analyzed descriptively statistically, and calculated by
using SPSS 20. The data were analyzed by calculating the mean score and paired
sample t-test. the result revealed that the students‟ mean score on post-test
(60,642) was higher than the pre-test(27,571). The tcount (9,350) was higher than
ttable (2,160). It indicates that the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted and the
null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It can be stated that utilizing the think talk write
application is recommended to apply in improving students‟ writing skills.
