The Reading Comprehension of The Second Years of SMPN 8 Palopo.”
Thesis. Tarbiyah English Education Study Program and Teachers Training
State Islamic Institute of Palopo. Supervised by: Wisran as the first
consultant and Yuyun Ruqiyyat Said as the second consultant.
This research aimed to find out the improvement of the students’ reading
comprehension by applying Team Accerelated Interaction (TAI) strategy at SMPN
8 Palopo. This research applied Pre-experimental research with one group pre-test
and post-test. The population of this research is eight grade students of SMPN 8
Palopo in the 2024 academic year. The total of population is 215 students. The
sample was class VIII IPS 1 consisted 25 students. The researcher applied an
experimental research. The instrument of the research was a reading test the
researcher used multiple-choice test which consisted of 20 questions of narrative
text. The researcher gave a pretest and posttest to the students. The research finding
indicated that Team Accerelated Interaction (TAI) can improve students’ reading
comprehension on narrative text. It was proved by the mean score of postest 79.00
which is higher than the pretest 51.20. The result of improvement is also proved
with t-test value. The researcher found that the value of t-test (12.322) was higher
that t-table value (2.064). It was concluded that the use of Team Accerelated
Interaction can improve students’ reading comprehension.
