The researcher aimed to find out the students‘ perceptions towards the use of sticky notes
in learning English and how the researcher applies the sticky notes to improve the
students‘ motivation in learning English. The method of this research is qualitative. This
research was carried out at the SMP Negeri 2 Wotu as a location for the researcher to
carry out the research. There were 25 students who participated in this research. The data
instruments in this research included an observation matrix and a questionnaire.
Processed and criteria for the analysis that are used to the data are: first, data
identification, which gathers the results of research data obtained through observations,
questionnaires, and documentation. Second, data reduction means summarising, sorting
points, recording important things, and separating unnecessary data to find the themes
and patterns of the research. The next step is the presentation of the data. A presentation
of the data that is loaded briefly and clearly made it easier to understand the overview.
The last step that the researcher took was to verify or draw conclusions. The researcher
presented the results of this study, namely, Sticky Notes as a Learning Motivation
Strategy: this study emphasises the relevance of adopting Sticky Notes as a strategy to
boost students' learning motivation while learning English at SMP Negeri 2 Wotu. It is
intended that by using this simple technology, more stimulus will be provided, causing
students' interest and excitement for learning to increase. Second, Effectiveness of the
Sticky Notes App in Increasing Learning Motivation: This study especially investigates
how the Sticky Notes application affects students' learning motivation at SMP Negeri 2
Wotu. After thorough consideration, it can be established that the use of sticky notes has a
good impact on improving student learning motivation and providing a more dynamic
and interesting learning environment. Based on the result, it can be concluded that: 1)
students' motivation in learning English after using sticky notes is increased. 2) students'
perception after using sticky notes in learning English is positive.
